Who they were
Theonas was Bishop of Alexandria from about 283 to 301. His successor St Alexander dedicated a church to him.
He is commemorated in the Roman Martyrology on 27 August.

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.
