Who they were
Ramón Cabanach Majem was born at Barcelona on 22 September 1911, made his religious profession in 1927 and was ordained priest in 1934. Before he was thrown into prison and put to death he carried the consecrated hosts to safety, dying on 25 August 1936, one of four of this group killed that day at Vila-rodona. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
