Who they were
David (Dewi), patron of Wales, was probably born in Cardiganshire. He was prominent at the Synod of Brefi, presided over another synod in 569, and was bishop at Menevia, later called St David's.
Little else is known with certainty. The Annales Cambriae give his death as 601.
