Saints Tiburtius, Valerian and Maximus
three Christian martyrs who were buried on 14 April of some unspecified year in the Catacombs of Praetextatus

Who they were
Valerian, a Roman noble, was married to Cecilia, who had secretly consecrated herself to Christ; she won him to the faith, and his brother Tiburtius followed. Both were arrested and beheaded, and Maximus, the officer charged with them, was converted and martyred too, around 229, according to the Passion of St Cecilia and the Martyrology of St Jerome.
Cecilia buried them at the risk of her own life. Pope Paschal I later moved their relics to the basilica of St Cecilia in Trastevere.
The miracles
There was never a formal cause: they have been honoured as martyrs since at least the fifth century.
Why that counted as sanctity
Two brothers and their jailer, won to Christ through Cecilia's faith, gave their lives for Him together.
