Who they were
Sebastián Llorens Telarroja was born at Tordera, near Barcelona, on 2 December 1909 and joined the student groups of Catholic Action. Shortly before his death he saved the image of the Blessed Virgin del Vilar, patroness of the town of Blanes, from destruction at great risk to his own life. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
