Who they were
Segismundo Sagalés Vilà was born at Vic, near Barcelona, on 1 May 1888 and was a religious brother of the Sons of the Holy Family from 1909. Fleeing women of the militia who were trying to entice him, he was seized in his family home and cut down on the road to Munter in September 1936. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
