Segundo Pastor García, in the world Petrus, was born at Mezquitillas, in the region of Soria in Spain, on 29 April 1885 and gave himself to the Hospitaller Order of St John of God by perpetual vows on 3 June 1921. He is named in the decree on the martyrdom of Mauricio Íñiguez de Heredia Alzóla and twenty-three companions of the Order, killed between 1936 and 1937, and he was beatified on 13 October 2013 by Pope Francis.
