Veranus of Vence

Who they were

At Vence in Provence, commemoration of Saint Veranus, bishop, who, son of Saint Eucherius, bishop of Lyon, was educated in the monastery of Lérins and wrote a letter to Pope Saint Leo the Great, thanking him for the faith in the incarnate Word that he had defended in his letter to Flavian.

The miracles

There was never a formal cause: he has been honoured as a saint since before the Church's formal processes began.

Why that counted as sanctity

The Roman Martyrology remembers him on 11 November as a bishop of Vence, son of Saint Eucherius of Lyon and educated at Lérins, who wrote to Pope Leo the Great.
