Who they were
Orsola Giuliani was born at Mercatello sul Metauro on 27 December 1660, the last of seven sisters, three of whom also became nuns; her mother died when she was seven.
As a Capuchin Poor Clare at Città di Castello for fifty years, and abbess, rich in spiritual gifts, she shared body and soul in the Passion of Christ; for this she was held under guard for fifty days, a model of patience and obedience. She prayed, suffered and sought 'holy poverty' to be like Christ, who gave everything.
