Who they were
Benet de Santa Coloma de Gramenet, in the world Josep Domènech i Bonet, was born in the diocese of Barcelona on 6 September 1892, made his solemn profession as a Capuchin in 1913 and was ordained priest on 29 May 1915, serving as novice master and as guardian of the friary at Manresa; ordered by soldiers to blaspheme he refused, and he was killed at La Culla near Manresa on 6 August 1936. He was beatified on 6 November 2021 by Pope Francis among Benet de Santa Coloma de Gramenet and two companions.
