Honorat Koźmiński

Who they were
Wacław Koźmiński was born at Biała Podlaska on 16 October 1829. Studying fine arts in Warsaw from 1845, he lost his faith, and in 1846 was jailed by the tsarist police on suspicion of subversion. He became a Capuchin, Brother Honorat, and was ordained on 27 December 1852.
A preacher in Warsaw's churches and a wise spiritual director, he served penitents and comforted prisoners, and founded several congregations. Confined by the authorities to the friary of Zakroczym and later Nowe Miasto, he died there with a reputation for holiness on 16 December 1916, aged 87.
