Priest of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph, martyr of the persecution in Spain
Who they were
Juan Cuscó Oliver was born at La Granada, near Barcelona, on 6 May 1872, made his religious profession in 1894 and was ordained priest in 1899. While trying to reach Rome he was thrown into prison, and he was killed at the cemetery of Lleida on 21 August 1936. Pope Francis beatified him on 13 October 2013, among the martyrs of Iacobus Puig Mirosa and nineteen companions of the Congregation of the Sons of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
