Who they were
Luis Padilla Gómez was born at Guadalajara on 9 December 1899. He entered the seminary in 1917 but left in 1921, unsure of his vocation, and gave up teaching to give free lessons to poor children and young people.
A founding member of the Mexican Catholic Youth Association, he practised his faith openly and was devoted to Our Lady. He shed his blood with Anacleto González Flores and the Vargas González brothers in 1927.
