Simó Reynés Solivellas

Who they were

A priest and religious of the Missionary Congregation of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary, born on 23 January 1901 at Manacor, who sang in the cathedral choir from the age of eleven, made his solemn profession in 1925 and was ordained priest in 1926, and served as assistant to the novice master, as a teacher and as a chaplain; sent to Barcelona, he was killed by his executioners on 23 July 1936 in the tower where he had hidden with his fellow religious.

He was beatified on 28 October 2007 by Benedict XVI, in the cause of Simó Reynés Solivellas and his companions.
